The Certi-Fire program offers accredited training (approximately160 hours) for licensed electricians, ensuring they meet Ontario codes for fire alarm installation and maintenance. Mandatory recertification every five years guarantees their expertise remains current.
Training Benefits
Certi-Fire is a 20-year training program that certifies qualified electricians to install and maintain fire alarm systems. It's run by the Electrical Contractors Association of Ontario (ECAO), the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).

*There are 2 components to it:
- Challenge Exam: You will have the opportunity to take a challenge exam to assess your knowledge. To successfully pass the exam, you'll need to achieve a score of at least 70%.
- Practical Labs: Once you've successfully passed the challenge exam, you'll engage in two practical labs, each spanning one day.
- Level 5: Upon completing these labs, you'll be eligible for Level 5 certification, which remains valid for an impressive five years.
